Died September 18, 2002, Olympic sprinter and NFL player

This athlete, born in Jacksonville on December 20, 1942, passed away on September 18, 2002. He earned two Olympic gold medals in 1964 and later played as a wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, winning Super Bowl VI. He remains the only individual to have secured both an Olympic gold medal and a Super Bowl ring. His legacy continues in Jacksonville, where he was both born and died.
