This department, led by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, aims to address what Scott describes as Washington's reckless spending and inefficiency. As a founding member of the Senate DOGE Caucus, alongside Senator Joni Ernst, Scott emphasizes the importance of giving the Trump administration flexibility to reform federal operations.

In his article, Scott writes about the necessity for "dramatic change in Washington" to restore fiscal responsibility. He believes that Musk and Ramaswamy's leadership will be crucial in this endeavor. Scott highlights concerning statistics: since 2019, federal spending has increased by 52%, while the U.S. population has grown only 2%. The federal workforce has expanded by over seven percent during this period.
