Today, Senator Rick Scott issued a statement following the Senate Republican Conference's vote for Senate Majority Leader.

Senator Scott expressed optimism despite not winning the vote. He stated, "I may have lost the vote, but I am optimistic. I ran for leader with one mission: to fundamentally change how the Senate operates and upend the status quo so we can actually start representing the voters who put us here." He emphasized that dramatic change is needed, as reflected by recent elections where President Trump was elected and Republicans gained majority control in both chambers of Congress.

Scott extended his gratitude to President Trump and supporters across America, saying, "I want to thank my friend President Trump and the support I received from so many Americans from every corner of our country. I am truly humbled by the millions of Americans who supported my run, and the many patriots who made their voices heard to demand change." Although he did not achieve his desired outcome, Scott pledged support for John Thune's efforts in implementing President Trump's agenda. He also commended John Cornyn for running a commendable race.
