U.S. Senator Marco Rubio has called for an investigation into Unity of Fields, a group that identifies as pro-Hamas and anti-American. The senator addressed a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland, urging the Department of Justice to examine the group's activities for potential domestic terrorism.

Rubio's letter highlights concerns about Unity of Fields' promotion of violence against Israel supporters and its encouragement of attacks on buildings and individuals. "Unity of Fields runs counter to any of the beliefs and rights which underpin our country’s constitutional system and endangers citizens," Rubio stated in his letter.

The group, formerly known as Palestine Action U.S., is described by Rubio as an "anti-Zionist 'direct action network'" advocating for militant actions against those they perceive as supporting Zionism or American imperialism. According to Rubio, Unity of Fields calls for escalated activities without disavowing any action in pursuit of its agenda.

Rubio further notes that Unity of Fields promotes revolutionary literature, including works by Palestinian revolutionary Bassel Al-Araj and Mao Zedong’s On Guerilla Warfare. These readings are aimed at preparing members for actions against the United States and Israel, with the goal "to open a new front against the US Empire [and] to build the international popular cradle of resistance."

Recent incidents linked to Unity of Fields include increased violence and vandalism targeting private property and individuals. The group's social media activity has reportedly encouraged such acts under anti-Zionist rhetoric.

Under federal law, domestic terrorism includes acts dangerous to human life that violate criminal laws with intent to intimidate or coerce civilians or influence government policy through intimidation or coercion. Rubio argues that Unity of Fields' statements and actions meet these criteria.

Rubio concludes his letter by urging immediate investigation before further harm occurs: "I look forward to your prompt investigation into Unity of Fields as you hold them accountable to the fullest extent under the law."
