U.S. Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) have introduced a bipartisan resolution to designate September 2024 as "National Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month." The goal is to raise awareness about spinal cord injuries and promote the development of improved treatments, therapies, and ultimately a cure.
Approximately 306,000 Americans live with spinal cord injuries. There is a need for more investment in research and education to enhance the quality of life for those affected by these injuries.
The resolution includes a statement: "The Senate commends the dedication of national, regional, and local organizations, researchers, doctors, volunteers, and people across the United States who are working to improve the quality of life for individuals living with spinal cord injuries."
