The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced five additions to the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) Entity List.

U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), author of the bipartisan Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act, released a statement urging the Biden-Harris Administration to add additional companies to the UFLPA Entity List.

“These recent additions are an important step, but for unknown reasons, the Biden-Harris Administration continues to slow walk the implementation of this important law. They are doing a disservice, both to our nation and to the victims of China’s slave labor scheme, by refusing to include other exporters who are complicit in slave labor practices. As Communist China continues to enrich itself, the Biden-Harris Administration has a moral duty to fully implement this law,” stated Senator Rubio.

Rubio has repeatedly called on the Biden-Harris Administration to more aggressively add Chinese companies to the UFLPA Entity List.

In April 2024, Rubio urged an investigation into Shein and Temu for alleged slave labor practices. In August 2023, he and his colleagues demanded accountability for the importation of products tainted with Uyghur forced labor.
