Argentina has been the epicenter of multiple terrorist attacks orchestrated by Hezbollah mercenaries, being home to the largest Jewish community in Latin America. On March 17, 1992, a truck loaded with explosives detonated at the Israeli Embassy in Buenos Aires. This attack resulted in the deaths of 29 people and left over 200 injured. Two years later, on July 18, 1994, a car bomb exploded at the Jewish Community Center of the Argentine Israelite Mutual Association (AMIA) in Buenos Aires. This incident claimed 85 lives and injured more than 300 individuals. The AMIA bombing remains the deadliest terrorist attack in Argentina's history.

In a posthumous tribute to those who tragically lost their lives and were injured, U.S. Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Ben Cardin (D-MD) presented a bipartisan resolution to reinforce justice for the victims on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the AMIA terrorist attack.
