On May 17, 2024, Senator Rick Scott released a weekly update on his efforts to address the United States' debt crisis and rising inflation. This week, reports from the Bureau of Labor Statistics showed that key federal government inflation indicators, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and the Producer Price Index (PPI), increased more than expected, exerting further pressure on family budgets and small businesses. Since President Joe Biden took office, the CPI has risen by 19.9%, while the PPI has increased by 19.4%. Following this week's PPI announcement, Senator Scott issued the following statement.

Senator Rick Scott said: "Today's PPI inflation report is further proof that President Joe Biden does not care about working Americans. Look at where our country stands today: PPI inflation has risen by 19.4% since Biden took office, more Americans have multiple jobs to make ends meet, businesses are closing and the American dream is being swapped for reckless spending in Washington. That's the future Biden wants for America. With Biden in charge, Democrats have made it clear they want more government, more spending, more debt, higher taxes and they don't care in the slightest if that means less freedom and opportunities for you. I grew up in public housing and my mom raised me to believe I was the luckiest kid in the world because I grew up here, where anything is possible if you work hard enough. We have to protect that dream for our children. I will not stop fighting against Democrats' tax and spend agenda and to protect our American dream before it is destroyed."

Since being elected to the U.S Senate, Senator Scott has repeatedly urged action to address America's debt crisis and harmful effects of inflation.
