Softball Defeats FGCU in the Last Day of the Series

Jacksonville University Softball competed on the last day of the series against FGCU Sunday afternoon.  

The Dolphins (14-14) defeated the Eagles 6-1 in seven innings.  

Tatianna Davis singled up the middle, Madison Bratek grounded out to the third baseman and Davis advanced to second. Madison Reynolds singled to left field and advanced to second on a throw; Davis advanced to third. Allison Bratek walked to first base; Kari Holzrichter reached on an error by the shortstop and Reynolds and Davis scored.  

The Dolphins carried all the momentum into the second inning. Madison Kennedy singled through the right side. Davis singled through the right side and Kennedy advanced to second. Hannah Nasco came in to pinch run for Kennedy. M. Bratek singled through the left side allowing Davis to advance to second and Nasco to advance to third. Reynolds doubled and advanced to third on an error by the shortstop; Davis, M. Bratek, and Nasco returned home for the Dolphins. A. Bratek flied out to left field and Reynolds scored. The score was 6-0 at the bottom of the second inning.  

Jacksonville gave up one run late in the fifth inning but held them to just one run for the remainder of the game.

The Dolphins return to Debbie and Fred Pruitt Softball Complex to take on opponent Lipscomb in a doubleheader Saturday afternoon at 1:00PM and 3:30PM.
