FSCJ Nursing Program Honor Society Collects Items for Trinity Rescue Mission

J

Florida State College at Jacksonville issued the following announcement on Aug. 30.

Nursing students from Florida State College at Jacksonville’s (FSCJ) Alpha Delta Nu (ADN) Honor Society Alpha Lambda Chapter collected donations of clothes, toys and personal hygiene products to support the Trinity Rescue Mission.

Each term, these future nurses choose a local organization to support as part of their philanthropy efforts for ADN. This term, Professor Stefanie Jorgensen accompanied the students, Lea Coppage, Lindsay Fischer, Cassidy Powers and Lawrence Hills, as they delivered the donations they had collected.

“As our students work to become skilled nursing professionals, it’s nice to see them get excited about their service projects, such as the most recent donation drive for Trinity Rescue Mission,” said FSCJ Nursing Professor Stefanie Jorgensen. “Activities like this help them connect to the community and give back in ways that impacts their learning and builds life experiences for their future careers.”

ADN recognizes the academic excellence of students in FSCJ's Associate in Science (A.S.) in Nursing (R.N.) program. Members are encouraged in the pursuit of advanced degrees in the profession of nursing, as well as continuing education as a lifelong responsibility.
