Chamberlain introduces evening and weekend Bachelor of Science in Nursing program in Arizona, New Jersey, and Virginia following a successful launch in Illinois
According to the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), “U.S. nursing schools turned away more than 75,000 qualified applicants from baccalaureate and graduate nursing programs in 20181.” That, coupled with a nationwide nursing shortage, makes addressing this critical issue a top priority at Chamberlain University.
In an effort to accommodate more qualified students and provide class options that are conducive to adult learners, Chamberlain University is pleased to announce an expansion to its Bachelor of Science in Nursing class options. Evening and weekend classes will be available at three Chamberlain University campus locations; North Brunswick, N.J., Phoenix, Ariz., and Tysons Corner in Arlington, Va. This expansion comes after a successful evening and weekend launch at the Chicago-area Addison campus last year, where demand has been strong. The additional local offerings will fill an increasing demand for qualified nurses. By 2030, there are expected to be an additional 33,000 new registered nurse positions in Arizona, 20,500 in New Jersey and 18,600 in Virginia2.
“At a time when qualified nurses are in high demand, it is unacceptable that access is a barrier to education. Expanding the opportunity to earn a BSN degree is a critical path to reducing the nursing shortage and ensuring the health of the public,” said Karen Cox, Ph.D., RN, FACHE, FAAN, president of Chamberlain University. “An evening and weekend option is a great fit for students who have families, daytime jobs or other responsibilities preventing them from being able to attend a traditional BSN degree program.”
The evening and weekend program offers the same exceptional curriculum and care for students so that they graduate as extraordinary nurses and healthcare professionals who can have a significant, positive impact on their communities.
This additional BSN program schedule will maintain the same quality faculty, administrative and clinical support as the traditional BSN degree program. Admission requirements, program components, and curriculum are the same as the weekday program. Admission to the evening and weekend BSN degree program is only available to new students.
