Senator Rick Scott released a statement on the second anniversary of the October 7, 2023, terrorist attack on Israel. The attack, which occurred two years ago, resulted in significant loss of life and widespread devastation.
Scott described the event as “one of the most brutal terrorist attacks in modern history.” He stated, “The October 7th massacre wasn’t just an assault on Israel — it was an assault on our democratic ally and the Jewish people. Families were torn apart, communities were decimated, and innocent lives, including babies and children, were lost in the most brutal ways imaginable. The evil that showed its face that day was pure, unfiltered hatred, and it’s a chilling reminder of the threats we continue to face.”
Reflecting on his visits to Israel as both governor of Florida and U.S. senator, Scott said he had witnessed “the devastation, the heartbreak, and the resilience of the Israeli people.” He added that these experiences strengthened his commitment to supporting Israel.
In his statement, Scott commented on changes since the attack: “The world has forever changed since October 7, 2023 — and so has our country. Today, under the leadership of President Trump, we are once again seeing what peace through strength looks like. We are showing the world what leadership looks like as the president cements his legacy as the most pro-Israel, pro-peace president in our nation’s history. America is standing tall again. Our enemies are watching — we are reaffirming our commitment to our allies, we are restoring moral clarity on the world stage, and we are making it undeniably clear: good will prevail over evil. The United States will always stand with Israel and the Jewish people, and against evil. We will never forget the atrocities of October 7th, 2023. We will never stop fighting until every hostage is returned and justice is served for those responsible for these heinous acts.”
Scott also shared a video message related to his statement.
