Senator Rick Scott appeared on Fox News’ The Sunday Briefing, where he criticized Democrats for their stance during the ongoing government shutdown. According to Scott, the shutdown is driven by two main issues: opposition to former President Trump and demands for spending taxpayer money on benefits for undocumented immigrants and large payments to insurance companies.

Scott argued that these payments are intended to hide what he described as the shortcomings of the Affordable Care Act, commonly known as Obamacare. He claimed that Obamacare is a primary factor behind increasing health care costs in the United States.

“Democrats’ vendetta against President Trump” and “Democrats’ demands to using American tax dollars for handouts to illegal aliens and massive, unaccountable checks to insurance companies to mask the failures of Obamacare, which is the root cause of rising health care costs in the nation,” said Senator Scott.

He emphasized his view that it is time for lawmakers to acknowledge what he sees as Obamacare’s failure and take steps to address it.

The interview can be viewed on Fox News’ website.
