Senator Rick Scott appeared on Fox Business’ “Mornings with Maria” to address the ongoing government funding impasse, which he referred to as the “Schumer shutdown.” He criticized Democrats for what he described as blocking Republican efforts to fund the government and ensure pay for military personnel and essential workers. According to Senator Scott, this has left many Americans and military families without paychecks while members of Congress continue to receive theirs.

Senator Scott stated, “Democrats’ complete hypocrisy for depriving hardworking Americans and military families of their own paychecks, leaving them struggling to make ends meet, while still collecting their own checks – which Senator Scott has been working to fix with his No Budget, No Pay Act to hold members accountable for funding the government, or forgo their own pay.”

Scott also highlighted his role as chairman of the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging and discussed a new investigative report. The report focuses on the risks associated with the United States’ dependence on foreign-manufactured generic drugs, particularly those produced in China and India. He emphasized concerns about national security and public health related to this reliance.
