Rick Scott, U.S. Senator representing Florida, used his social media platform on September 15, 2025, to recognize Hispanic Heritage Month and comment on national security actions related to drug smuggling.

In a post made at 20:54 UTC, Scott stated, “As Florida’s United States Senator, I’m proud to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month as we honor the countless contributions and rich culture of the Sunshine State’s Hispanic community.”

Later that evening at 21:23 UTC, Scott addressed recent federal efforts against drug smuggling. He wrote: “Thank you, @POTUS, @SecWar, and every military member for taking bold action to keep America safe. Cartels, gangs, and drug smugglers: take note. We will not tolerate deadly drugs that threaten American lives to be smuggled into our country. Those responsible will be held”

Hispanic Heritage Month is observed nationwide from September 15 to October 15 each year to recognize the achievements and cultural impact of Hispanic Americans. In Florida—often referred to as the “Sunshine State” or “Estado del Sol”—the Hispanic community represents a significant portion of the population and has shaped many aspects of state life through economic contributions and cultural traditions.

Senator Scott’s comments regarding drug smuggling come amid ongoing national debates about border security and public health concerns related to illicit drugs entering the United States.
