U.S. Senator Rick Scott, who represents Florida and serves as chairman of the Senate Special Committee on Aging, recently posted a series of statements on his social media account addressing various national and local issues.

On February 16, 2026, Scott questioned the whereabouts of documents he had previously requested from Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass. He wrote, “Does the Poet Laureate know where the documents I requested from @MayorOfLA Bass in October are?”

Later that day, Scott commented on opposition to the SAVE America Act’s identification requirements, referencing an explanation by Senator Mike Lee. He stated, “Correct! Opposing the SAVE America Act because it requires ID makes no sense. My good friend, @BasedMikeLee, explains “ (February 16, 2026).

In another post dated February 17, 2026, Scott criticized Democratic leadership in Washington D.C. and Maryland for their handling of a major sewage spill into the Potomac River and highlighted federal emergency response issues. He said, “Democrat-run D.C. & Maryland have done nothing to address the horrific Potomac sewage spill – maybe the WORST in U.S. history – & thanks to their Senate Democrat pals, FEMA is shut down. Thank you, @POTUS, for stepping in to fix this & stop the damage from liberal incompetence.”

Scott has been serving as U.S. Senator for Florida since January 2019 and maintains offices throughout the state in cities such as Naples and Orlando (official website). In addition to chairing the Senate Special Committee on Aging during the 119th Congress, he holds seats on several other key committees including Budget and Armed Services (official website). Prior to his political career, Scott served in the U.S. Navy and co-founded a healthcare company (official website). He regularly shares legislative proposals and policy positions through his official channels (official website).
