Senator Rick Scott, a Republican representing Florida, posted several statements on his social media account between September 9 and 10, 2025. His posts addressed topics ranging from U.S. foreign policy in the Western Hemisphere to domestic disaster relief efforts and commentary on national economic leadership.
On September 9, Scott commended collaborative efforts between Puerto Rico’s governor and the U.S. President: “¡Es genial ver a la gobernadora @Jenniffer trabajando junto a @POTUS para mantener a Estados Unidos seguro y luchar por la libertad, la democracia y la estabilidad en Venezuela y en todo nuestro hemisferio!” (September 9, 2025).
Later that evening, he expressed support for former President Donald Trump’s economic initiatives: ” President Trump is working incredibly hard and helping to create American jobs so we can turn our nation around after Biden spent four years nearly destroying the American Dream.” (September 9, 2025).
In another post early on September 10, Scott highlighted legislative efforts to aid Americans affected by natural disasters: “Americans recovering from natural disasters—whether hurricanes or wildfires—need all the help they can get to recover. My new bill extends disaster tax relief through 2026 and provides additional support for victims of wildfires like the deadly CA fires.” (September 10, 2025).
Rick Scott has previously focused much of his legislative agenda on disaster recovery measures and economic policy. As a senator from Florida—a state frequently impacted by hurricanes—he has advocated for federal assistance programs for those affected by severe weather events. The mention of extending disaster tax relief aligns with previous bipartisan congressional actions aimed at supporting recovery in communities hit by natural disasters.
Additionally, U.S. engagement in Venezuela has been an ongoing matter of debate within Congress. Lawmakers have periodically discussed policies intended to promote democracy and stability in Venezuela and across Latin America.
