Senator Rick Scott posted a series of statements on October 14, 2025, criticizing congressional Democrats over the government shutdown, advocating for legislative reform, and commemorating Charlie Kirk at the White House.
In his first tweet, Scott accused Democrats of prioritizing the interests of undocumented immigrants and insurance companies over American citizens. He wrote, “Democrats shut down the government because they want to give illegal aliens health care & cover up Obamacare’s failures by giving BILLIONS of your tax dollars to insurance companies. @SenateDems are caving to the radical Left & putting Americans last. Republicans are ready to” (October 14, 2025).
Scott continued his criticism of Senate Democrats in a subsequent post, referencing the ongoing government shutdown and its impact on federal workers. He stated, “While @SenateDems double down on their Schumer Shutdown and collect their paychecks, TSA, FAA, and so many other federal workers are left without. We need to pass my No Budget, No Pay Act to hold Congress accountable for passing a budget, or forgo their paycheck.” (October 14, 2025).
In his final tweet of the day, Scott attended a White House event honoring Charlie Kirk. He wrote, “Honored to be at the White House for the National Day of Remembrance for Charlie Kirk as @POTUS posthumously awards him the Presidential Medal of Freedom. We will never forget you, Charlie!” (October 14, 2025).
Scott is a U.S. Senator from Florida and a member of the Republican Party.
