On July 6, 2025, Rick Scott highlighted reports regarding the treatment of José Daniel Ferrer by Cuban authorities. He stated that “Los informes de que el régimen asesino de Castro/Díaz-Canel continúa golpeando y torturando a @jdanielferrer, empujándolo al borde de la muerte, son desgarradores.” He further commented on Ferrer’s imprisonment as an act of “pura maldad.”

The following day, July 7, 2025, Scott addressed violence against law enforcement officers. He tweeted: “I strongly condemn any violence against our law enforcement.” He emphasized the bravery of Border Patrol agents who risk their lives daily for community safety and security.

Later on the same day, he reiterated his condemnation in Spanish: “Condeno enérgicamente cualquier violencia contra nuestros oficiales de la ley y el orden.” Scott described such violent acts as “repudiable,” underscoring his support for law enforcement personnel.

José Daniel Ferrer is a Cuban dissident known for opposing the Cuban government. The situation surrounding him has drawn international attention due to allegations of mistreatment while imprisoned.
