Rick Scott, U.S. Senator representing Florida, posted a series of messages on October 13, 2025, addressing the release of hostages previously held by Hamas and extending congratulations to the United States Navy on its anniversary.

In his first post at 13:33 UTC, Scott wrote: “Today, our prayers have been answered, and the hostages are HOME!

After meeting with so many of these families and hearing the heartbreaking stories of their loved ones who were still in Hamas’ captivity, it’s incredible to see them reunited. Thank God for using @POTUS to BRING”.

Later that day at 14:47 UTC, he added: “After 738 days in the hands of Hamas terrorists, every living hostage has finally been freed from captivity! Thank you, @POTUS, @SecRubio, and the entire admin for your leadership and making this extraordinary reunion possible. Because of you, 20 innocent men were saved and https://t.co/j4Y2E8in9P”.

At 16:39 UTC, Scott recognized a significant military milestone with another post: “Happy 250th Birthday, @USNavy!

Our Navy is the surest guaranty of peace. Thank you for keeping our country safe. We couldn’t be more grateful. https://t.co/0eh9x70WsO“.

Senator Scott’s comments follow a period of prolonged negotiations regarding hostages taken by Hamas. The United States government has previously played an active role in international hostage recovery efforts. October 13 also marks the anniversary of the founding of the U.S. Navy in 1775; it remains one of the primary branches responsible for national defense and maritime security.
