Senator Rick Scott has recently made a series of public statements on social media regarding congressional pay during government shutdowns, Antifa activity, and the affordability of life in Florida.

On November 12, 2025, Scott wrote, “Democrats just caused the longest shutdown in our nation’s history, depriving millions of Americans of their paychecks, while still cashing their own paychecks. It’s wrong! We need to pass my No Budget, No Pay Act, which says if Congress can’t pass a budget, members shouldn’t”. The senator referenced his proposed “No Budget, No Pay Act,” legislation intended to prevent members of Congress from receiving salaries when a federal budget is not passed.

Later that day on November 12, Scott posted another message addressing concerns about Antifa. He stated, “For too long, Antifa has terrorized our cities & put Americans in harm’s way. I’m proud to have the @NatPoliceAssoc’s endorsement of my Stop ANTIFA Act, which codifies @POTUS’ efforts to stop Antifa’s terror & keep our communities safe.” In this post, he highlighted support from the National Police Association for his “Stop ANTIFA Act,” aimed at formalizing executive actions against groups labeled as violent or extremist.

On November 13, 2025, Scott issued a brief note of appreciation: “Thank you, @POTUS, for working to make life more affordable for Floridians!”

Rick Scott is a United States Senator representing Florida and has been active in proposing legislative responses related to federal budgeting processes and public safety concerns.
