Rick Scott, U.S. Senator from Florida, has recently used his social media platform to address issues related to the conflict between Israel and Hamas, as well as economic developments in Florida. In a series of posts on August 4 and 5, 2025, Scott expressed support for Israel and commented on workforce investments in his home state.
On August 4, Scott highlighted the ongoing hostage situation involving Israelis held by Hamas: “For 668 days, Hamas terrorists have held Israelis hostage, near the brink of death. We cannot look away from Hamas’ cruelty or reward their terror. America stands with our ally, Israel, and we won’t stop until every hostage is home!”
Later that day, he praised former President Donald Trump’s economic policies: “Great to see President Trump’s policies drive investments from the private sector into our workforce, benefitting thousands of Florida employees!”
On August 5, Scott referenced a specific victim of the conflict: “Ariel Bibas should be celebrating his 6th birthday, but instead, his family is grieving his death at the hands of Iran-backed Hamas. We will NEVER forget the Bibas family and the remaining hostages who Hamas kidnapped 669 days ago. Every day that passes, their lives are at”
The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas has resulted in prolonged hostage situations since October 2023. The United States government has consistently voiced support for Israel during this period and condemned attacks by groups such as Hamas. In addition to foreign policy statements, Scott’s comments on economic investment reference efforts by both federal and state governments to encourage private sector growth in Florida.
