Senator Rick Scott, a Republican representing Florida, recently posted several statements on his official X (formerly Twitter) account addressing issues ranging from the ongoing hostage crisis involving Hamas to support for small businesses and a message of appreciation for the U.S. Coast Guard.
On August 3, 2025, Scott highlighted the plight of hostages held by Hamas, stating: “This is what 667 days in Hamas terrorists’ captivity will do to you.
Bringing every hostage home is more urgent now than ever. We cannot rest until we bring them all home!” The senator’s post comes amid continued international concern over hostages taken during conflict between Israel and Hamas.
The following day, August 4, Scott turned his attention to economic issues affecting his home state. He wrote: “Proud to support Florida’s small businesses with the Protecting Access to Credit for Small Businesses Act to ensure they can access federal resources through trusted, community-based lenders that best serve them without big government getting in the way.” This statement reflects ongoing legislative efforts in Congress aimed at supporting small business growth and access to credit through local financial institutions rather than larger federal programs.
Later on August 4, Scott acknowledged the anniversary of the United States Coast Guard with a message of gratitude: “Happy birthday, @USCG!
Thank you for all you do to secure our borders, respond when disasters hit, and keep America safe. ” The U.S. Coast Guard was established in 1790 and plays a key role in maritime safety and national security.
Scott has served as one of Florida’s senators since 2019 after previously holding office as governor of Florida. His recent social media activity underscores his continued focus on national security concerns abroad, economic support for constituents at home, and recognition of military service branches.
