Senator Rick Scott, representing Florida in the U.S. Senate, addressed several national issues on his social media account on September 24, 2025.

In a post published at 17:20 UTC, Scott called for the release of hostages held by Hamas, stating: “For 719 days, evil Hamas terrorists have held and tortured innocent hostages. @POTUS’s message couldn’t be clearer: RELEASE THE HOSTAGES NOW!”

Later that day, at 18:15 UTC, Scott responded to an attack on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility. He wrote: “Praying for these victims and our law enforcement agents after this despicable, and clearly targeted attack on an ICE facility. Our law enforcement officers work hard day in and day out to keep our families safe and border secure. This violence is truly disgusting.”

At 19:20 UTC, Scott criticized Democratic policies related to COVID-era subsidies. He posted: “Democrats’ COVID-era subsidies waste billions of tax dollars and allow fraud and abuse by insurance companies, while Americans are being screwed over. Amy’s story shows us exactly why Democrats’ broken policy isn’t working.”

Hamas has been designated as a terrorist organization by the United States government since 1997. The group has previously been involved in hostage situations during conflicts with Israel.

Incidents involving attacks on federal facilities such as those operated by ICE have prompted increased security measures in recent years.

COVID-19 relief programs implemented under both Democratic and Republican administrations have faced scrutiny regarding oversight and reports of fraud or abuse.
