Senator Rick Scott has used his social media platform to address issues ranging from federal governance to the ongoing conflict involving Hamas. In a series of posts, Scott highlighted collaboration with other officials and expressed concern for hostages held by Hamas.

On September 19, 2025, Scott wrote: “.@RepDonaldsPress & I share a mission in Washington: to make Washington work for Florida families. We’re working with @POTUS & @SecScottBessent to help families & businesses thrive & make sure the IRS is working for the American people, not against them.”

The following day, on September 20, 2025, he addressed the situation regarding hostages held by Hamas: “The accounts of what Hamas terrorists did and continue to do to innocent hostages are horrific—the very definition of evil. Many hostages remain in captivity 715 days later. I refuse to stop calling for their release until every hostage is home and Hamas has paid for their”.

Continuing this theme on September 21, 2025, Scott stated: “Don’t be fooled—Hamas is a force of pure evil. These terrorists have tortured innocent hostages for 716 days, while stealing critical humanitarian aid from the people of Gaza. Hamas should never be recognized as anything other than terrorists. We must hold them accountable for”.

Rick Scott serves as a U.S. Senator representing Florida. His comments about the Internal Revenue Service come amid broader debates over tax administration and efforts in Congress to reform IRS operations in favor of taxpayers and small businesses.

His statements regarding Hamas reflect ongoing concerns within the U.S. government about terrorism and humanitarian issues in Gaza. The United States has designated Hamas as a terrorist organization since 1997 and continues to support efforts aimed at securing the release of hostages held by militant groups in the region.
