Rep. John Rutherford, serving Florida’s 5th District in Congress since 2017, uses social media platforms to communicate his legislative actions and recognize the contributions of veterans. His recent tweets highlight these efforts and sentiments.

On March 27, 2025, Rep. Rutherford expressed concern about foreign finances in educational institutions, stating, “Every unreported dollar that goes into an educational institution from a foreign adversary has the propensity to undermine our national interest. It must be stopped. That’s why I was proud to vote for the DETERRENT Act on the House floor today to tighten requirements, close”.

Two days later, on March 29, 2025, he commemorated historical military figures, noting, “Today is Tuskegee Airmen Commemoration Day, a day we take to honor the country’s first Black military pilots, many of whom were from Florida. May we forever be grateful for their bravery, service & sacrifice for our great country. “.

Also on March 29, Rutherford recognized Vietnam veterans, acknowledging, “We are forever thankful for our Vietnam Veterans who faithfully and selflessly served our country. We will never forget your service and bravery. On National Vietnam War Veterans Day, we thank you.”
