Rep. John Rutherford, who has represented Florida’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, marked Constitution Day and other events through a series of social media posts on September 17, 2025.
In a post commemorating the anniversary of the U.S. Constitution, Rutherford wrote: “Today, we celebrate the formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution by thirty-nine brave Americans on September 17, 1787. Happy Constitution Day! https://t.co/hC4j53ZPbo” (posted September 17, 2025).
Later that day, he acknowledged another event: “Happy National App Challenge Day! Find out more about the Congressional App Challenge and why I look forward to it every year https://t.co/TwB7SqnqDa” (posted September 17, 2025).
Rutherford also commented on developments related to fisheries management as Co-Chair of the South Atlantic Red Snapper Task Force: “As Co-Chair of the South Atlantic Red Snapper Task Force, I am excited to see Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina’s directors of state marine fisheries agencies unveil a roadmap to state-based data gathering and management of the South Atlantic red snapper. John Rutherford began serving in Congress after succeeding Ander Crenshaw in 2017. He previously served in the Florida House of Representatives and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University. Born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1952, Rutherford resides in Jacksonville.
