Rep. John Rutherford, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 5th district since 2017, highlighted environmental and transparency issues in a series of posts on November 18, 2025.

In a tweet posted at 18:12 UTC, Rutherford announced his legislative efforts to protect Florida’s coastal environment, stating: “Florida’s coastal environment is a central part of our state’s economy and way of life. Rutherford succeeded Ander Crenshaw in Congress in 2017 and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1952 and currently residing in Jacksonville, Rutherford graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1974.
