On March 3, 2025, Rep. Rutherford commemorated Florida’s admission to the Union as the 27th state with a celebratory message: “On this day in 1845, Florida joined the Union as the 27th state. Happy birthday to the Sunshine State! Forever grateful to call Florida home! “

The following day, March 4, he addressed rising crime rates across the nation and announced legislative action: “As crime rises across the nation, additional steps must be taken to prevent criminals from stealing & trafficking firearms. That’s why I’m proud to reintroduce the bipartisan Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) Protection Act with @RepGolden to ensure those who rob and burglarize…”

On March 5, Rep. Rutherford expressed support for President Trump’s early efforts during his presidency: “In the first 43 days of his presidency, President Trump has done more to renew the American Dream than any other president by bolstering our economy, stopping the flow of illegal immigrants and drugs over our borders, restoring American strength on the global stage, brokering…”
