Jacksonville seeks applicants for upcoming vacancy on city ethics commission

The City of Jacksonville Ethics Commission is seeking applicants for an upcoming vacancy. The commission has played a significant role in promoting transparency and open government in Jacksonville. It was responsible for drafting and implementing the Jacksonville Ethics Code and helped establish the independent Office of Ethics, Compliance and Oversight, which oversees the administration of the code.

According to Chapter 602, Part 9 of the Jacksonville Ordinance Code, the Ethics Commission supports the Office of Ethics, Compliance and Oversight and reviews potential violations of the ethics code.

Those interested in applying must complete an application following provided instructions. Applications can be downloaded from the Ethics Commission webpage at http://www.coj.net/departments/ethics-commission.aspx. Completed applications are due by Friday, October 10 at noon and should be submitted via email to ethics@coj.net. Interviews will take place during a Nominating Committee meeting on Friday, October 17 starting at 4:00 p.m.
