The City of Jacksonville is offering a Tourism Ambassador program aimed at individuals who regularly interact with visitors in Jacksonville and Duval County. The initiative is open to front-desk staff, shop owners, restaurant servers, and residents interested in promoting the city.

The training program lasts four hours and does not require any payment. It consists of a classroom session introducing participants to local attractions, marketing strategies, and traveler needs. This portion lasts about two hours and includes lunch provided by Clara’s Tidbits. Afterward, attendees take part in a 90-minute guided walking tour of downtown Jacksonville. The session concludes with a brief wrap-up at the Downtown Visitor Center.

Upon completion, participants receive certification as Jacksonville Tourism Ambassadors. Certified ambassadors are eligible for updates, invitations to events, and networking opportunities with others in the program.

Scheduled training sessions are set for October 14, November 18, and December 16, 2025. Each class can accommodate between 10 and 30 participants; if there are fewer than ten registrants one week prior to the date, the session may be canceled or rescheduled.

Organizations may also request private or on-site training sessions for their teams without additional fees.
