The City of Jacksonville has launched a new video titled “Keep Jax Cute, Don’t Pollute,” featuring Mayor Donna Deegan, hip-hop artist Mal Jones, and local students. The video, filmed at various city parks, combines music and community participation to encourage residents to keep Jacksonville clean by disposing of trash properly and recycling.
Mayor Donna Deegan stated, “Keeping Jacksonville clean is about more than just picking up litter, it’s about showing love for our city. This campaign is fun, creative, and speaks directly to our community’s heart. I’m so proud of our students and local artists for helping us spread the message: ‘Keep Jax Cute, Don’t Pollute!’”
The campaign is part of a broader initiative by the City to address litter and blight. It involves schools, businesses, and residents in efforts to create a cleaner and safer environment. One component is the Jax Litter League, where teams compete to collect the most trash. The current campaign is run in partnership with the Jacksonville Jaguars; the winning team will receive Jaguars merchandise and a special game day experience.
Mal Jones commented, “Music has the power to connect and motivate. Partnering with the City and these amazing students to promote a cleaner Jacksonville is something I’m proud to be part of. We’re showing that keeping our city beautiful can be cool, creative, and community driven.”
The video is available on the City’s official website and social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and X (formerly Twitter).
