The Jacksonville Dolphins women’s lacrosse team is set to play its second game of the season at Rock Stadium, facing the Rider Broncs. This follows their season-opening 14-8 victory over Campbell.
In their previous game, Jacksonville overcame an early deficit, trailing 3-1 before rallying. Senior attacker Olivia Johnson achieved a personal best in points, while senior draw specialist Abby Moran made a significant impact during draws. The win marked Jacksonville’s fifth season-opening victory in program history and its first since 2022.
Rider enters the matchup under new leadership, with Paige Frye taking over as head coach after previously leading Scranton. Frye secured her first win with Rider by defeating Fairleigh Dickinson 12-8. The Broncs have been paced by attacker Kayleigh Colleary, who leads the team with nine points through four goals and five assists. Sophomore defender Hannah Cozik has contributed across multiple areas, leading Rider in goals scored, ground balls, and caused turnovers.
Jacksonville’s offense has shown improvement at home, averaging 15.6 goals per game over their last five contests at Rock Stadium. Last season, they scored more than 15 goals three times in their final four home games, including a 21-goal performance against Queens. Historically, the team averaged 8.61 goals per game in February since 2023 but started this season strongly with 14 goals in their opener.
The upcoming game will take place at noon at Rock Stadium on the Jacksonville University campus. Fans can watch the match on ESPN+, and admission is free.
