Jacksonville announces Presidents’ Day closures for city offices and public facilities

Many city offices and facilities in Jacksonville will be closed in observance of Presidents’ Day. The closures include City Hall at St. James, the Ed Ball Building, Jake M. Godbold City Hall Annex, Yates Building (including all Tax Collector branch offices and the Office of the Property Appraiser), Duval County Courthouse, Supervisor of Elections main office, Municipal Code Compliance Division, Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department administrative offices, Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department offices, all community and senior centers and gymnasiums managed by this department, Tillie K. Fowler Regional Park Nature Center, Victim Services Center, Kids Hope Alliance, Social Service Division Emergency Assistance office, Right-of-Way and Stormwater Management Division administrative offices, Mowing and Landscape Maintenance Division administrative offices, Solid Waste Division administrative offices, Household Hazardous Waste Facility, The Ritz Theatre & Museum, Cecil Gym and Aquatics Center.

Despite these closures, there will be no changes to garbage, recycling or yard waste collection schedules.

The 630-CITY Customer Service Center will not be open from Saturday, February 14 through 8am on Tuesday, February 17. Residents can request city services online at myjax.custhelp.com during this period.

City Council meetings are scheduled as follows: On Tuesday, February 17 at 9am the Neighborhood, Community Service, Public Health and Safety Committee will meet; at 2pm the Rules Committee will convene. On Wednesday, February 18 there will be a Transportation, Energy and Utilities Committee meeting at 9am; Special Committee on Duval DOGE at 11am; Finance Committee at 1pm; Land Use and Zoning Committee Agenda Meeting at 4:30pm followed by the Land Use and Zoning Committee meeting at 5pm.

Animal Care & Protective Services (ACPS) will remain open for adoptions from noon to 7pm on Monday, February 16.

All Jacksonville Public Library locations will close on Monday for Presidents’ Day but reopen for regular hours on Tuesday.

Boone Park Tennis Center will operate from 9am to 4:30pm on Monday while other tennis sites remain closed. Hard courts and Pickleball courts across all facilities can still be accessed through back or side gates on a first come first serve basis.

Huguenot Memorial Park opens at 6am for day users with all visitors except paid campers required to leave by 6pm. Campground visitors must purchase passes by 5pm to stay until late evening hours.

Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park opens at 8am with early bird entry requiring a pass between 6-8am. Most visitors must depart by 6pm except permitted campers who may enter until later in the evening under specific conditions.
