A form that takes five minutes to fill out can generate thousands of dollars for textbooks, hiring staff and educators, and maintaining schools.
It’s the 2022 Federal Impact Aid form, and all parents who have children enrolled in district schools are invited to complete it.
What is the 2022 Federal Impact Aid Survey?
It’s called a survey, but it’s really a brief form used by the federal government to determine whether a family is federally connected.
A parent/guardian is federally connected if:
- They live in federally supported housing.
- They work on federal property.
- They are active-duty.
- They are an active full-time member of a foreign military.
The federal government collects this data from school districts and reimburses the districts thousands of dollars of lost revenue from federally connected properties.
Duval is home to more than 12,000 families who are connected to the federal government.
Why is completing the form important?
This is important because the school district has the potential to receive federal funding for the purchase of textbooks, materials, personnel and other education related expenditures based on the number of federally-connected students enrolled in our schools.
That’s why the district asks families to complete the Federal Impact Survey each fall. The survey helps determine whether a student is federally connected.
How can I access the form?
Easy! There are two ways.
- Online: Families can log into Focus, click on “Forms” and select the “2022 Federal Impact Aid Survey.”
- Download: Families can download the form, complete it, and return it to their child’s school.
Forms are accepted now through Dec. 15. Only one survey per household is required.
