Aaron Bean, U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 4th district, publicly called on the U.S. Department of Education to release $6.8 billion in K-12 formula grant funding that had been placed on hold, according to a series of posts made on July 25, 2025.

In a post published at 13:28 UTC, Bean stated: “BREAKING: In response to the U.S. Department of Education’s abrupt hold on $6.8 billion in K-12 formula grant funding, I’m urging Secretary McMahon to release the money immediately. I will continue to monitor this closely throughout the process. https://t.co/NjJVBjjiiH”.
