U.S. Congressman Aaron Bean (FL-04) announced his support for releasing files related to Jeffrey Epstein following a House of Representatives vote on the matter. In a statement, Bean said, “I voted to release the Epstein files because Northeast Floridians deserve transparency. House Republicans, through the House Oversight Committee’s investigation into Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes, have worked to uncover the facts and give victims a voice. Today’s vote is another decisive step to pursue justice while delivering long-overdue accountability and transparency to the American people and Epstein’s victims.”
The Oversight Committee has so far made public about 65,000 pages of records concerning Epstein. These documents include materials from the Department of Justice, records from the Epstein Estate, and deposition transcripts from former U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr and former U.S. Department of Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta.
Bean currently serves in Congress representing Florida’s 4th district after succeeding John Rutherford in 2023. Before joining Congress, he served in the Florida House of Representatives between 2000 and 2008 and in the Florida Senate from 2012 to 2022. Bean was born in Fernandina Beach, Florida in 1967 and still resides there. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Jacksonville University in 1989.
