U.S. Congressman Aaron Bean, representing Florida’s 4th district, made a series of statements on social media regarding the recent end of the federal government shutdown and legislative efforts to protect federal employees in the future.
On November 13, 2025, Bean issued a statement about the House vote to end the government shutdown, writing: “My statement on the House voting 222-209 to end the Schumer Shutdown and restore full operations of the federal government.”
Later that day, Bean commented further on the circumstances surrounding the shutdown, stating: “The Schumer Shutdown was entirely avoidable. Fortunately, @RepublicanStudy and @housegop showed real leadership and brought it to an end.” This post attributed responsibility for resolving the impasse to Republican leaders in Congress.
On November 14, Bean addressed concerns about federal workers affected by the shutdown, particularly air traffic controllers. He wrote: “Grateful our air traffic controllers are finally receiving their paychecks, but this situation proves we need long-term solutions. That’s exactly why I introduced the Aviation Funding Stability Act to ensure FAA employees are protected from future shutdowns.”
Aaron Bean has served as a U.S. Congressman since 2023 after replacing John Rutherford. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served in both chambers of Florida’s legislature—the House of Representatives from 2000 to 2008 and the Senate from 2012 to 2022. Born in Fernandina Beach in 1967, Bean continues to reside there and is an alumnus of Jacksonville University.
