Washington, D.C.— Senator Rick Scott joined a Pro-Israel rally at George Washington University, standing in solidarity with Jewish students facing threats on college campuses. Senator Scott visited GW to participate in the Israel solidarity event following a meeting with Jewish and pro-Israel students. Expressing his support for Israel, Senator Scott emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety of Jewish students.

Senator Rick Scott stated, “Jewish students deserve to have a place where they can learn and go about their daily life without fearing for their safety." He also expressed concern over university leadership appeasing pro-Hamas sympathizers on campuses, calling for action against those who threaten the safety of Jewish students.

Regarding the denial of police support for Jewish students, Senator Scott criticized D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, stating, "It makes me furious that D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser denied GW’s request to provide police support to protect Jewish students." He called for Mayor Bowser to explain this decision before the U.S. Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.

Senator Scott emphasized his commitment to supporting Jewish Americans and ensuring Israel's defense against terrorism. He highlighted legislative efforts, including the Stop Antisemitism on College Campuses Act and the Antisemitism Awareness Act, aimed at combating antisemitism and promoting campus safety.

In his unwavering support for Israel, Senator Rick Scott continues to advocate for the protection of Jewish students and the preservation of their rights in academic environments.
